Naouirou Ahamada, a young midfield player for Crystal Palace, has Roy Hodgson excited.
Although Crystal Palace have a very good team, they have only won one of their previous ten games, therefore their current performance isn’t at its best.
Beyond the first-team regulars, there are a number of young players at Copers Cope Road who are proving to be excellent.
Danny Imray, a right-back who has been playing at the young level, is one example of this, and he’s made Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne seem bad. This was evident in Imray’s performance in a U21 match against Man City.
Another is Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who if he hadn’t been injured would probably be a regular right now.Rak-Sakyi appears to be a great prospect at Palace, and when he returns, he should play.
But it wasn’t only Roy Hodgson who was raving about these; it was also 21-year-old Nouirou Ahamada.

Based on Ahamada’s performances this season, Hodgson was enthusiastic about him in an interview with club media.
“Well, it seems like he’s getting more [minutes].” I believe that a significant portion of the 16 games that he has played thus far would have occurred over this specific period of the season.
“Last season’s last ten games had less than that. Rather than just being on the bench, he seemed to be with us all the time. Since the beginning of this season, that has altered.
“He has a lot more opportunities in a variety of roles, for sure. And we just believe that he is one of those players who has continuously changed, continuously learned more and more about how we are trying to play when the ball is in our possession, when it isn’t, and what is necessary.
But he’s always done a good job, I have to admit. I’ve never had a single reason to voice my opinions on him. We have always found him attractive and believed that he had both technical and physical aptitude. Thus, he’s among the guys who, in my opinion, will serve this club quite well moving future.
Ahamada could be a key player for Palace
Many have become irritated with Hodgson’s unwillingness to start Ahamada in games, citing the midfielder’s status as a “work in progress.”
This is true even when a lot of people think Ahamada should have an opportunity to replace Eze, even though the alternatives don’t seem to put the world in the center.
According to Transfermarkt, the Frenchman has made ten Premier League games this season, but all of them have been cameos, with just 8% of the available minutes being used.
