New York declared quarterback out for the season

When the attack and defense of the New York Jets and the Washington Commanders share the field, the moveable item will encounter the stoppable force. The Jets (5-9) rank 30th in points scored per game (14.4), while Washington’s (4-10) defense is dead last in points allowed per game (30.2). After losing to the Miami Dolphins 30-0 and being knocked out of the playoffs, New York declared quarterback Aaron Rodgers out for the season, putting an end to any offensive momentum that could have been building. Despite the Jets’ poor offensive performance, head coach Ron Rivera praised the Commanders’ ability to carry the ball, even though they rank 30th in the NFL in terms of running yards per game (85.1).

According to Rivera, “They do have a really good running game.” They make an effort to manage the tempo and pace. They’re not attempting to travel at a hundred miles per hour. They are decelerating the speed. It seems to me that their goal is to just play the game extremely steadily. However, I believe that their running game is where it all begins.

This season, Hall has led the Jets’ rushing assault with 637 yards and two touchdowns. Washington’s run defense, which gives up the 12th most yards per game (119.7), is in the middle of the pack.

The Commanders have allowed the most passing yards per game (264.8), while the Jets rank 30th in terms of passing yards per game (170). In terms of overall yards per game, New York ranks worst with 255.1, while Washington’s defense has allowed the highest amount of yards per game, 384.5. Zach Wilson, the quarterback for the New York Jets, had a concussion against the Dolphins. Trevor Simian is expected to make his season debut if Wilson is unable to play. At MetLife Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, the Commanders take on the Jets.
