In the summer, Burnley was one of the busiest teams, bringing in 15 new players in preparation for their Premier League comeback.
So far, Vincent Kompany’s team has struggled; they are currently ranked 19th and five points outside of safety. Do more reinforcements seem necessary?
Kompany recently stated that possible outgoings are also on the radar, and Burnley will want to do business if they can discover some “clever” deals.
Here is what Clarets fans suggested for January when we invited them to write down their wish lists:
Chris Horner is a backup striker, seasoned CB, and full back.
Danny Ings, Eric Dier/Nat Phillips, Sergio Gomez, and Jordan James (buys) are the players that make up James Brindle. Will likely wind up with a different youthful winger, though.
Mike Culshaw: O’Shea has a future, but we require a more perceptive individual. I’m shocked that Ekdal hasn’t played more, but it’s most likely due to an injury. Bailey had Taylor in his pocket the entire game while he was being crucified against Villa. A Maatsen-like left back is what we need.
Martyn Brothers: This team is sometimes too young and naive, and two or three solid, seasoned players may make all the difference in their ability to survive.
Danny Ings, Gavin Weir.
Sam Lane: A goal-scoring striker. Don’t let Zaroury and Benson go this window; begin utilizing them in the starting lineup.
Lea Knott: Definitely a left back. As good as Taylor has been for the club and gives his all every game we need someone better.
Chris Briggs: Maatsen back. Definitely need 2 or 3 strikers and maybe another defender.
Roy Ewart: Defenders and an experienced holding midfielder.
Lee Richards: Not Maatsen, he’s clearly not coming back here so no need to waste any time trying to make it happen. We need a strong ball winner, another striker and a left back to compete with Taylor.
Callum Leaver: Full back, centre mid and a striker.
Stuart Naylor: It’s never really the time for a good deal. Likely we accept what is coming, get some raw talent in at LB & DM and enjoy another Champ season.
Steve Mault: Left back, centre half and 2 strikers.
