Intense pressure is on the 49ers to defeat the Packers in the postseason.

It wouldn’t be a proper NFC playoff season without the San Francisco 49ers playing the Green Bay Packers. This is a classic matchup that no one will have complaints about. Anytime these two teams play, they are a major draw for fans.

It won’t matter at all that the Packers are the No. 7 seed, while the 49ers are the No. 1 seed. However, that seeding is part of why the 49ers face immense pressure to defeat the Packers in the divisional playoff round.

Under no circumstance can the 49ers lose this game. They are coming off a Bye week with crucial rest and have a little extra time to prepare for the Packers. Meanwhile, the Packers have to face the 49ers on a short week on the road.

This is part of why the 49ers are a 10-point betting favorite in this game. But most of all, the 49ers are significantly better than the Packers.

They have the better coach and are loaded with All-Pro and Pro Bowl players. You can’t say the same about the Packers.

San Francisco has been incredible all year long. A Super Bowl victory has never looked as likely as it does this season. Not even the 2019 year compares to this because the 49ers are a better team now. Because of that, this team faces all the pressure.

They are supposed to take care of business, while the Packers weren’t even expected to go this far or even make the playoffs.

This is something that could hurt the 49ers if they are not mentally strong. Green Bay is playing with house money here and has nothing to lose.

It is all on the 49ers this game and they face a Packers team that is surging. They are expected to win and will have no excuses as to why they cannot get it done.

I do not believe the 49ers will succumb and falter to the pressure. They have proven to have stout mental fortitude all season long. However, emotions can possibly pop up, especially if the 49ers do not start the game off ideally.

What if rust does actually show up for the 49ers and they find themselves in a tougher game than anticipated? Things could quickly get weird and start to cause some panic.

Once the playoffs kick in, it adds in a new element and atmosphere. It’s a whole different beast than any game played in the regular season, especially with the expectations of a Super Bowl appearance resting on the 49ers’ shoulders.
