New York Yankees; Rumors Spreading fast

MLB.com | Feinsand, Mark: Although pitchers and catchers will soon report for spring training in a few weeks, there are now a lot of free agents on the market. The Yankees were one of the teams listed when MLB.com questioned certain executives where they felt some of the big players may end up. An executive expressed the belief that the Yankees may still pursue Cody Bellinger, while another stated they believed the team had more tricks up their sleeves.

Reg Joyce of the New York Post: Austin Wells, a catcher, was one of the Yankees’ late-season young player callups, albeit he wasn’t the main storyline generator. Wells spent a fair amount of time behind the plate, and although his performance there has always been questioned, he demonstrated some promise in that role last season. Currently, the concern is whether he can manage a heavier workload back there. Even though Jose Trevino will return and probably play catcher for a long time, Wells has a chance to replace him by the horns the next season.

Max Goodman at NJ.com: The Yankees are rumored to be interested in pitchers Phil Maton and Ryan Brasier in order to bolster their bullpen for 2024. Here’s what those two would offer if the Yankees decide to investigate those possibilities.
