C.Ronaldo plans for Al Nassr

Al-Hilal coach Jorge Jesus is hoping Cristiano Ronaldo has recovered in time to face his team in the Riyadh Season Cup on Thursday.

Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal are set to renew their rivalry in a friendly clash before the Saudi Pro League resumes later this month after a winter break. Ronaldo missed Al-Nassr’s emphatic 6-0 win over Inter Miami last time out due to injury, and it’s not clear if he will return in time for the game. However, Al-Hilal coach Jesus wants to come up against Ronaldo.

  • He told reporters: “This is a preparation game, we have not competed for five weeks. It will be an important game to keep the team at strong physical levels. I hope it will be a good game and that there will be no confusion between the players. Ronaldo? It would be good if he was already recovered from his injury. This is a spectacular game and he is one of the best in the world. I hope he plays. It will be a good preparation game and that is what we want.”

    • Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr are the top two sides in Saudi Arabia currently and are also battling it out for the league title. Jesus’ men have a healthy seven-point lead over Al-Nassr at the top of the table as they look to win a record-extending 19th Saudi Pro League title. Indeed Al-Hilal beat Al-Nassr 3-0 back in December, although Ronaldo’s side are unbeaten in their last seven matches in all competitions since that reverse.
