Tim Robinson, the referee at Anfield, gave Klopp a warning for his outbursts after the Reds were not given a penalty for a foul on Diogo Jota. The referee also gave Kompany a warning, which is his third yellow card of the year. As a result, he will miss Burnley’s game against Arsenal the following weekend.
He continued, “I am now suspended for the upcoming game [against Arsenal].
Even Klopp questioned the logic behind his counterpart’s yellow card and made a lighthearted allusion to recent rumors that suggested the introduction of a blue card, which might result in a sin-bin.
“What if the referee in this game has a blue card available?” he said.
“I had no clue why Vincent Kompany got it. I lost it in that situation so fine, give me a yellow card.”
Burnley’s frustration will only grow as they now have the same number of points as Sheffield United, who are currently at the bottom of the table, following their convincing 3-1 victory over Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.
