Next season, Sam Madison and Renaldo Hill will not be part of the Miami Dolphins coaching staff.Shortly after Brian Duker, the defensive backs coach for the Detroit Lions, was brought on as the team’s secondary coach and pass game coordinator, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald broke the story.

After serving as the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers for two seasons, Hill, 45, was Vic Fangio’s coordinator for the pass game and defensive backs at Miami. He played with the Dolphins from 2006 to 2008 and was an assistant defensive backs coach in 2018.

Madison, meanwhile, spent two seasons as cornerbacks coach and pass game specialist in South Florida. He was drafted by the Dolphins in the second round of the 1997 draft, spending nine seasons with the franchise.

Miami’s passing yards allowed per game, which came in at No. 15, increased to 312 yards in the final three games of the season.In 2023, the Dolphins’ run defense ranked sixth, giving up 99.8 running yards per contest.
