West Ham welcomes a 48 year old manager to replace the current one.

Moyes, who is out of contract at the end of the season, had held talks over a new deal after a promising start. However, the club are willing to commit to offering the 60-year-old a new deal following a poor run of form.

The situation has become toxic with a section of the fans calling for Moyes to be sacked. West Ham are without a win in their final eight games in all competitions and fans have become frustrated with the style of football implemented by the Scotsman.

The Hammers board are likely to wait until the end of the season before making any decision but they could pull the trigger if the results start to deteriorate.

According to a report from the Daily Mail (20 Feb, print edition, page 65), the Hammers are drawing up list of candidates to replace Moyes.

The Hammers already started the process of sounding out candidates to replace the former Manchester United manager. The report says that they are looking at candidates who are available and who would be ready to take the job.

While the club is under no pressure at the moment to sack Moyes immediately, the fact that they have started looking at other options suggests that Moyes’s job is under serious threat.

Julen Lopetegui, Steve Cooper and Graham Potter are the three candidates the Hammers like while they retain a strong interest in under-fire Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel.

The interest in Potter is really interesting. The 48-year-old did a brilliant job at Brighton but he was out-of-depth at Chelsea. Potter is capable of playing an attractive brand of football. He will be itching to get back to work quickly, and would probably accept an offer from West Ham if they approach.
