Sunderland and Ipswich Town battling for Manchester United defender

Will Fish of Manchester United is being tracked by Ipswich Town, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Hull City, Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, and Sheffield United, according to HITC.

Not just a few of Manchester United’s academy graduates have gone on to win championships. Some of its coaches have also taken positions in the EFL; Michael Carrick is currently guiding Middlesbrough, while Kieran McKenna is leading Ipswich Town.

Both managers, but especially McKenna, have benefited from their association with Old Trafford by bringing in fresh talent. As an example, the Town manager now has Brandon Williams, a young player for the Red Devils, on his roster.

However, it’s now rumored that both managers are intrigued by a Manchester United player.Ipswich Town and Middlesbrough are reportedly interested in center defender Will Fish, who is presently on loan at Hibernian in Scotland, according to HITC.

They’re far from the only ones keen though. The report states Sunderland, Hull City, Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City and Premier League side Sheffield United are also monitoring his progress.

Ipswich Town and Middlesbrough both have a connection to use in the pursuit of Fish, but there looks set to be strong competition for his signature. Sunderland did business with Manchester United for Amad Diallo and after his successful loan, they could view the Stadium of Light as a good place for him to go.

A step up seems to await Fish after his latest success in Scotland. He’s in his second stint at Easter Road and has been a mainstay at the back, playing all but one game across all competitions this season.
