Stoke City: Carl Dickinson on the club’s chances of staying up

After Stoke City moved into the Championship relegation zone, former defender Carl Dickinson gave his assessment of the team’s chances of staying in the league to Lucas Yeomans of BBC Radio Stoke.

“It can be challenging to predict where your next victory will come from when you are down and struggling a little, but all you need to do is stay together and make sure you are putting in the necessary effort to be tough to beat and risk your life.

“All they need to do is stop crosses, block shots, and ensure that everyone is held accountable. There is no greater game than the one on Saturday, and the players need to continue to believe in themselves and have faith that if they keep putting in the effort, success will follow,” he stated.

“There does need to be a bit of a rebuild in terms of the type of player that is brought into the club and what the identity of Stoke City should be and what’s got them results in the past and what that’s been built on,” Dickinson continued, speaking on how the team moves forward.

“There is some tough games coming up, but I do think there’s enough in there to go and get the results that are needed.”
