The 22-year-old, who made his debut on New Year’s Day after a surrender from Liam Rosenior’s squad against Sheffield Wednesday, displayed tenacity and resolve in his thirty minutes of play during a team performance that most City supporters will be happy to forget.
Five days later, against Birmingham City in the FA Cup, Jacob would make his full debut at left defender during a moment when injuries had the team looking incredibly thin. The supporters gave the full-back a lot of praise for his instinctive finish in the area, and in the 87th minute, Hull City won the match.
Since then, he has played in a number of iconic Tigers games, such as the 90-minute smash and grab against Sunderland, when he in late to help secure three points against Southampton, who were vying for promotion.

Jacob hasn’t played as much as he would have liked since Ryan Giles took over at left back. But most Hull followers can sense the lad’s quality, so when he signs a long-term contract, most of them will be happy to watch their favorite player.
Rosenior has made it known to his Hull City teammates how much he values camaraderie and collaboration. Instead of being discouraged, players who are on the bench are encouraged to help the squad and work their way back onto the roster. Something that, considering the conviction and his local connections to the club, Jacob will gladly undertake.
