West Brom man finds new club after having contract terminated

After his contract with West Brom was terminated in February, Rayhaan Tulloch found a new club.

The 23-year-old played for The Hawthorn’s for six years and totaled seven senior team appearances. Deadline Day saw the mutual consent termination of Tulloch’s contract when he returned from a loan stint at Bradford City. He played in ten games with the Bantams, recording two assists and a goal, however because of his little game time, it was determined that a recall was the best option.

Tulloch was freed during the transfer window, so he was able to look for a new team. After being almost a month without a team, he has now agreed to terms with a squad in a higher league than Bradford. The winger, who was born in Birmingham, has signed a short-term deal with League One team Shrewsbury Town through the end of the current campaign.

Tulloch was named amongst the substitute’s for his new side at the weekend. He didn’t come on however but watched the Shrews defeat Port Vale, who are managed by former Baggies boss Darren Moore, 2-1. Shrewsbury are 17th in the League One standings, and are seven points above safety, Tulloch’s next opportunity to make his debut is on Tuesday (March 12) when his new club hosts Exeter City at the New Meadow.

Shrewsbury manager Paul Hurst stated, “Rayhaan has been training with us for the past couple of weeks and has shown a good attitude and a good work ethic.”

“Looking at the squad, if we were to get injuries at the top end of the pitch then it would leave us a little bit light, so I think this works for all parties.”

Doncaster Rovers, Rochdale, and League of Ireland team Dundalk are among Tulloch’s previous teams; the latter is where he had his most success. Tulloch played for West Brom and made eighteen appearances for age-grade England sides.
