West Brom starlet marks ‘£1m’ Aston Villa transfer
According to a rumor, Aston Villa is expected to finalize the acquisition of West Brom teenager Keilan Quinn.
The sixteen-year-old has already “said his goodbyes” at the Baggies, according to the Secret Scout, and Villa is close to closing a deal for another of Albion’s academy products.
This is corroborated by a post the athlete made on his Instagram story, where he states: “I want to express my gratitude to WBA and all of the team members who have supported me throughout the years. I am incredibly appreciative of the chances and encounters the club has provided for me. It’s time to move on to the following chapter.
The beginning of the next chapter seems to be in the city, at the Villa academy, which is managed by former West Brom manager Mark Harrison. In fact, Quinn replaced Charlie Pavey after coming off the bench in Saturday’s 4-2 loss to West Ham’s Under-18 team.
On the day of the transfer deadline, The Athletic first reported that Quinn would be attending Bodymoor Heath as a scholar after Villa had agreed to pay £1 million.
Quinn, along with a number of other highly talented young players from recent years, such as Jamal Jimoh, who cost Villa a comparable amount of money in the summer, will go the same route. The Albion academy was also attended by deadline day arrivals Lino Sousa and Morgan Rogers, who finally made their way to Villa.
Tim Iroegbunam, Finn Azaz, Finley Thorndike, Ricoh Richards, Jamal Jimoh, Louie Barry, Triston Rowe, Luka Lynch, and Chisom Afoka are among the players that joined Villa after growing up there or coming directly from the Hawthorns.
