Texas Running Back Gibson Jerrick Reaching Out to Bijan Robinson for

The Texas Longhorns are thinking about how to get better following their historic year in 2023, while the majority of students are finding ways to enjoy their spring break. In their last season in the conference, they not only qualified for the College Football Playoffs but also won the Big 12.

Texas, however, cannot be happy, even though those two accomplishments are fantastic and demonstrate that the program is moving in the right direction. The postseason demonstrated both their defensive shortcomings and the fact that, although strong, their attack lacked polish. The club is undoubtedly clinging to the notion that they were close but fell short, and new players like running back Jerrick Gibson want to be the reason they succeed.

Gibson is seen honing his craft with a Texas icon in a recent YouTube video posted by trainer Tim Riley, the Director of Sports Performance at the Kollective in Austin. The guy in question is Bijan Robinson, who was selected with the eighth overall choice in the draft prior to 2023 and is currently getting ready for his second NFL season with the Atlanta Falcons in 2024.

Robinson not only knows what it’s like to be a highly-touted running back, but he knows exactly what it’s like to be a highly-touted back at Texas. Also, whether he will admit it or not, he also established a standard of greatness while he was a Longhorn.

As for Gibson, he is one of the early enrollees for Texas this spring as he looks to carve out a role in the loaded backfield. The four-star recruit out of IMG Academy will look to take some carries away from CJ Baxter, Jaydon Blue, and Tre Wisner. There are some carries to be dished out following the departures of Jonathon Brooks and Keilan Robinson, and if Gibson is anything like his training partner, he will certainly receive some.
