Bad New;He is leaving Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ Ben Standig of The Athletic reports that one of their players is bidding farewell.

According to a source, the Commanders are anticipated to sign free agency CB James Pierre.

Mostly a special teams and reserve player, the four-year veteran joined the Steelers as a 2020 UDFA.

Pierre, 27, signed a contract in undrafted free agency in 2020 and has only missed one game for the Steelers in the last four years.

This spring, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reported on Pierre and his free agency.

Once a bright young star, Pierre has been benched in 2021 and largely used on special teams after Tee Higgins scorched him for a handful of touchdowns. Compared to 269 special teams snaps, Pierre played just 26 defensive snaps in the previous season.

With the Washington Commanders, who are looking to escape the NFL standings’ gloom, Pierre now has a new opportunity.
