Reading FC star’s partner on fears and vowing to

Yazmine Delarose, the partner of Lewis Wing, a beloved character in Reading, has gained popularity this week after speaking out against Dai Yongge, the owner.

After joining from Wycombe Wanderers in the summer, Wing—one of Ruben Selles’ standout players this season—had high hopes of leading the Royals back into the Championship.

But things haven’t gone as planned after a string of off-field problems and on-field disappointments, including having six points taken away thus far.

Delarose told Elm Park Royals, “For me, it’s the thing I think about most, what someone has said and what it is.”That’s not how things turned out. That makes me sad because, when I stop to think about it and consider the team, the employees, and the fans, I realize that they have all the necessary elements to succeed and complete the tasks they set out to do. When you are informed that someone is financially stable and that there won’t be any deductions, it can be upsetting, but regrettably, that’s not how things work in retrospect. Although that bothers me, I can’t dwell about what was said right now; instead, I need to move on and consider what

“I hope that these obstacles occasionally turn into a lot better story in the long run. It develops resilience and character, so even though I can sit here and say, “You said x and y,” it serves no purpose. That’s just the way things are. What matters is what we can do right now to move forward and alter it.”

Wing scored in Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Cambridge United to put the Royals seven points clear of the relegation zone in League One. However, two points are at risk should the club fail to make any scheduled payments between now and the conclusion of the season.

The always upbeat Delarose added, “I’m so nervous and anxious for what the future holds for me and my family.”For example, will Dai eventually sell and act morally, or will he not sell at all? After that, will we enter administration? Will we then lose 12 points as a result? After that, will we be dropped to League Two? This implies that athletes receive a pay cut of almost half, which puts a financial strain on our family. Lewis, for example, already accepted a pay drop in order to move to Reading since he was thrilled about the opportunity. All these potential outcomes are going through my mind.

“I have strong opinions on things. Although I’m a positive person, if someone asks for my opinion, I’ll be up front and honest about it. There came a time when I was seeing a lot of tweets and realized that people were simply not hearing from their partners about the struggles they were facing in their households. We face the same challenges even if our partners are athletes. Everybody has difficulties, and I finally expressed how I felt. It was just me being honest, but I didn’t think it would blow up as much as it did. Lewis and I are both human. We are all in this together, and we are all experiencing this.”
