KNOXVILLE, Tenn.Sydney Mains, a standout player for Knox Catholic girls’ basketball, tied the school record for both girls’ and boys’ basketball scoring on Tuesday night against Chattanooga Christian.
In the Senior Night game, the Lady Irish senior and Florida Atlantic commit hit a three-pointer to finish the regular season atop the KCHS record book.
Earlier this month, Mains’ status as a finalist for Tennessee Miss Basketball was also made public.
This Saturday, Knox Catholic girls’ basketball will play in the area tournament to start the postseason. After the team lost in the title game the previous year, Mains guided the Lady Irish to the 2023 II-AA championship the previous season.
