Las vegas has 5 Day 2 offensive tackles to keep an eye on…..

In the past, we examined a few cornerback prospects for the Los Vegas Raiders on Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft. However, the class of offensive tackles this year is quite deep, so the Raiders may want to address the trenches in the second and third rounds.

Here are five draft prospects to watch that are listed in the top 33 to 100 players on the consensus big board of the NFL Mock Draft Database. A few observations from each tackle’s scouting report, their RAS, and some statistics from Pro Football Focus are also provided.

For the past two seasons, Morgan has performed admirably in pass protection. He gave up 17 pressures on 418 attempts in 2022, enough for the second-highest pass-blocking grade (82.0) among offensive tackles in the Pac-12. Not only did he give up three less pressures on almost 40 more opportunities last season, but his 87.3 rating was also the seventh-best in the FBS. The former Wildcat would have to move to a different position in Las Vegas, though, as his experience is limited to the left side.

The date is January 14, 2012. We are in San Francisco at Candlestick Park. The 49ers need a touchdown with 14 seconds remaining, down three, and facing a third down to maintain their hopes of making the playoffs without having to go to OT. The

Three-year starter who, despite sustaining an ACL tear late in the 2022 season, showed his resiliency and hard ethic by returning to the game and performing well. Morgan can assist in spring running plays with second-level blocks and play-side lead blocking because of his agile and flexible movement in space. He doesn’t always secure back-side cutoffs, but he may potentially address that by raising his pad level and landmarks. His punch style shortens his pass protection window and breaks him off at the peak of the rush. Getting his hands and feet in sync will help him become more balanced and consistent when facing athletic rushers. He has projectable upside and better skill as a pass defender and run blocker.

The fact that Suamataia has played both tackle positions in the past may attract the Raiders’ attention. Additionally, he had a much better grade in 2022 (74.2) as a right-side run blocker before dropping by more than 20 points to 52.9 in the most recent season. He has, however, consistently produced in pass protection, giving up 13 pressures on the left side and 11 at right tackle.

Bleacher Report’s scouting report (complete report):

Suamataia, all things considered, possesses the physical tools of a starting tackle combined with an undeveloped skill set that is based more on flashes than on consistency. However, he will only be 21 when he is drafted, giving him time to hone his skills and close that deficit.

Although Paul has only played left tackle in the past, he is a strong athlete who might play right tackle in Las Vegas. As a pass-blocker on roughly 500 snaps this past fall, he gave up only nine pressures, demonstrating his impressive pass-protection record. As a result, he had the highest pass-blocking grade of 91.5 among all FBS tackles, one point higher than Joe Alt. Although it was a career-high, the Houston product’s ground game rating of 69.4 is somewhat lackluster.

Paul can feed the first-level defender over before intersecting and sealing off second-level targets, making him an effective combo and climb zone run-blocker. Although he may twist and initially kick out the defensive end on the front side,
