“£1 and £2”- Ipswich urged to take winger transfer action

Though nothing has been completed as of yet, and it’s unclear which division the team will play in the upcoming campaign, if the club is promoted, they’ll probably need to hire players in order to assemble a strong team.

Since several of these players joined the team while they were in League One, it’s safe to infer there is a significant improvement in quality between the divisions. This implies that periphery players will probably be let go.

Marcus Harness, who relocated to Portman Road from Portsmouth in 2022, is one of these players. He was a key member of the team that won promotion the previous season.

But with only a year remaining on his contract with the team, Ipswich might try to take advantage of this

Henry said to FLW, “Marcus Harness, I think I’d be quite happy to sell him on to a lower Championship or a top League One side even if we don’t go up this year.”

“He clearly had a significant impact on the match against Birmingham, but he falls short of what Ipswich is attempting to accomplish.

“I just don’t think he’s good enough, and I think there are better wide players that offer something different than what Harness provides, if we are further up the table or in the Championship next season.

“I don’t discount his importance; he was on the field for almost every game last season and has been on often this one as well, but our replacements need to step up and make an effect.

“You

“I believe there are better players and options available. It would be intriguing to watch what transpires in the summer for West Brom with a player like Grady Diangana, as I believe they are very different from Harness.”

Harness still has a year left on his contract at Portman Road, so it makes sense for Ipswich Town to let him go and get paid for the winger.

The former Republic of Ireland U21 international has made just seven starts in 34 Championship appearances this season, and that number is probably going to drop next season as Ipswich, regardless of the tier they play in, continues to bolster and bolster their roster.

Harness, who is 28 years old, will prefer consistent starts, and he won’t have that at Portman Road.
