Tyrell Reed, a JUCO transfer from Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, has put Arkansas back up to five scholarship running backs for 2024. The 5-9, 205-pound speedster accepted the offer on Thursday and informed head coach Sam Pittman right away that he would be calling the Hogs on Friday.
After transferring from Highland Park in Topeka, Reed was a full qualifier out of Lawrence (Kan.) in the Class of 2023. As such, he can depart Hutch and formally join the Razorbacks this summer. Reed, who selected the Hogs over Temple, East Carolina, UMASS, Akron, UTP, Austin Peay, and McNeese State, recorded times of 4.36 for the handheld and 4.48 for the forty-yard laser sprint.
“It felt great,” Reed said. “It was like a business thing for me. I’m just ready to get to work. I knew I was going to be a Razorback when they first started recruiting me, so let’s sign the paper and get to work.”
