Since winning Super Bowl 50, the Denver Broncos have become an up-and-down, but mostly inept, franchise, It has been difficult times for Broncos Country as fans have been hoping for something, anything to turn things around.
After several failed head coaches and quarterbacks, the Broncos are allowing Sean Payton to build the team completely in his vision. As things stand, three players who came from the University of Oregon are set to take on key roles in the team’s attempt to get things back on track.
Broncos will turn to 3 former Ducks to help guide a return to glory
Bo Nix, Troy Franklin and Alex Forsyth will all play key positions for the Broncos in 2024.
Nix was the team’s first-round pick and though many have argued that the Broncos could have gotten Nix later in the draft, there is just as much evidence of that likely not being the case.
The Broncos have not started many rookie quarterbacks in team history but Nix is the favorite to open the season as the starter. He will have the keys and Payton will be calling the shots. Any future success the Broncos have certainly starts here.
In the fourth round of the draft, the Broncos traded up to get Troy Franklin. He set a single-season record at Oregon last season with 1,383 yards and is the school’s all-time leader with 25 touchdown catches. He won’t start as the No. 1 wide receiver in Denver but it won’t be long before he assumes that role.
