Former Kenya Cup side Kisii RFC is one step closer to earning promotion to the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship after a narrow 12-10 win over Kabete Stallions on Saturday, in a mouth-watering clash at Kabete Polytechnic grounds in Nairobi.

Valentine Odoyo’s two penalties, a penalty from Walter Aiko and a dramatic drop goal by Edwin Omar in the final minutes, helped Kisii RFC overcome the challenge from the Nairobi-based Kabete Stallions who managed a try and penalty.

Kisii RFC under the tutelage of Coach Lee Arstone, was pleased with the win and stressed the team’s ambition and drive for continued success.
