WHAT HAPPENED?
Lebohang Mokoena, a.k.a. “Cheeseboy” in the football community, left Moroka Swallows in 2022 and hasn’t been with a team since.In addition, the loss of his wife had a big influence, which made him decide to give up football in order to take care of his kids.Mokoena is now prepared to take the pitch once more and show off his skills to the South African football community.
WHAT MOKOENA SAID?

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Mokoena made his PSL debut in the 2003/04 season for Pirates as a 17-year-old, where he made 35 appearances, scored one goal and provided four assists.
He then transferred to Sundowns, where he played 89 games, scored 11 goals and recorded 13 assists from midfield.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR MOKOENA?
Given Mokoena’s desire to continue playing, his experience could be invaluable for smaller clubs aiming to climb the standings.
Furthermore, with his coaching badges in hand, he might consider transitioning into a coaching role in the PSL. However, only time will reveal how his future unfolds.
