Rayon Griffith, a Guyanese coach, has been named the head coach of Cricket West Indies for the A-team tour of Bangladesh. The announcement was made by CEO Johnny Grave on Tuesday during an interview on the Mason and Guest radio program. “He has been working with us and among our elite seniors team for several years now and he is going to take the development opportunity to go and lead the A team tour of Bangladesh who will be supported by a usual group of assistance and medical team,” the CEO stated.

The 44-year-old former seamen, who played 22 First-Class and 22 List A matches, is the head coach and manager of the Guyana senior team as well as the head coach of the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League. As an assistant coach, Griffith has been with the West Indies senior men’s side since 2019.

The CEO further stated that Stuart Williams and Andrew Richardson will support Griffith. Grave also mentioned the appointment of Dwain Gill, a Grenadian, as the manager; he was reportedly named the new President of the

Gill was named the new President of the Windward Islands Cricket Board (WICB), replacing Dr. Kishore Shallow, who resigned from the role after being elected President of Cricket West Indies during the organization’s last annual general meeting in March, according to sources. In addition to being a director of Cricket West Indies, Gill has been a director of the Windward Islands Cricket Board since 2014. In 2016, he managed the West Indies under-19 team at the World Cup.
