Hull City boss Liam Rosenior has praised Jon Dahl Tomasson ahead of Saturday’s Championship clash at Ewood Park.
Rosenior took charge at the MKM Stadium last November following a spell in the dugout at Derby County.
The 39-year-old says Rovers have some “outstanding” youngsters and expects both teams will try to dictate the play.
“I think he’s a very good coach,” he told the club website. “I really like the way they play. They were very close to the play-offs last season.
“Yes, they have lost a couple of players but they have some outstanding young players. They are a fearless, young squad.
“I think it is going to be a really good football match. It will be open and both teams are going to try to play and dominant possession.
“I am looking forward to it. They are another team, away from home, who I think are going to have a really good season.”
Former MK Dons man Scott Twine is available for selection after joining on a season-long loan from Burnley. Twine scored three goals in 18 appearances last term.
“He is a player with proven pedigree at this level,” Rosenior added. “What I really like about Scott is his character.
“When we met, we got on so well. We have similar values. His ability is not questioned, we had to work really hard to get him here.
“What is really pleasing to me is he has shown a real willingness to come here for the right reasons. He thinks this is the right football project for him, he things we can be successful this season.
“I am delighted to have him in our squad and he is going to be a huge asset to us moving forward.”
Hull have also been boosted by the return to fitness of trio Ruben Vinagre, Harry Vaughan and Allahyar Sayyadmanesh ahead of their trip to East Lancashire.
“Rúben has trained, Harry has trained and Allahyar trained for the first time in a long time,” Rosenior explained.
They’re back in and around the squad which is great for me and gives me a few headaches in terms of team selection.”
However, Greg Docherty and Dogukan Sinik both remain sidelined by their respective injury problems.
