He is gone and never to return Alabama has just confirm key player dead at age of 26 years old….

Why does Parker Brailsford’s helmet keep coming off for Alabama football?

Alabama’s new starting center, Parker Brailsford, has fit in just fine through three games. The Crimson Tide offensive line seemed to shake off some struggles against Wisconsin Saturday, and the center has been largely anonymous up front, an improvement after snap issues plagued UA in 2023.

But he can’t keep his helmet on. Brailsford has been sent to the bench for a play due to his hat coming off in each of the three contests.

It’s an issue that offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic wants fixed.

“We’ve had a lot of conversations with him and the equipment people,” Kapilovic said Thursday. “He’s gotten quite a few hands to the face and they haven’t been called, and (the helmet is) coming off, but we gotta figure it out. It’s happened too many times.”

He missed much of spring football due to an undisclosed personal issue, but was back with the team once preseason camp started. Brailsford quickly took over the starting center role, and has been there for all three games.

The Crimson Tide coaches are optimistic about his future with the program in that job. He just has to keep his helmet on, starting with next Saturday’s marquee matchup with Georgia.

“I don’t know what we gotta do,” Kapilovic said. “I got some ideas. I don’t know if they’re legal, but we’re going to make sure we keep that helmet on, somehow, some way.”

Brailsford took over the starting center role after Seth McLaughlin transferred to Ohio State after the 2023 season. The sophomore followed Kalen DeBoer from Washington, where he was part of a group that won the Joe Moore Award, which goes to the nation’s top offensive line.
