Released Bristol City man’s admission as fans call to re-sign him on free transfer

Taylor Moore is eager to get back playing football again following his summer transfer exit from Bristol City.

Moore is a free agent after his contract at the Robins wasn’t renewed. The 26-year-old was at Ashton Gate for seven seasons, but was limited to 60 appearances and spent the last few seasons out on loan.

He had been playing under Steve Cotterill at Shrewsbury Town last year and a permanent move to the New Meadow would have been a good outcome but Cotterill departed the Shrews earlier this summer.

Using the new social media app Threads, Moore said: “Actually could do with playing some football soon.”

He has been engaging with Shrewsbury supporters on Instagram, using the blue and yellow circle emojis in response to some requests from fans. Shrewsbury are now managed by former Portsmouth midfielder Matt Taylor, and he would be a new manager he’d have to impress.

In May, the Bristol Post reported that undisclosed League One clubs hold an interest, as well as teams in Europe. Social media talk on Twitter did link him with a move to Leyton Orient. The O’s were promoted after winning the League Two title last season.
