Manchester City could now make late swoop for ‘complete’ £42m Wolves star

Manchester City are reportedly considering a move for Wolves star Matheus Nunes.

It was reported earlier that Wanderers do not want to sell Nunes and three other players at this point in the transfer window.

Nunes is seen as a key player, especially with Ruben Neves having left the club. But now, it is being claimed that Premier League champions City are keen.

Manchester City interested in Matheus Nunes

hey have just recently walked away from a deal for West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta.

But Nunes is someone on their radar, with just over a week to go.

The Athletic say that City ‘are considering a small number of candidates to fill the void’ left by the injured Kevin De Bruyne.

Nunes has only been with Wolves since last summer, signing from Sporting CP for £42 million.

He struggled in his first season in the Premier League, but showed flashes of brilliance.

Worrying for Wolves

It has been claimed that Wolves don’t want to sell Nunes – who’s been described as a ‘complete midfielder’ – at this point in the window.

But Wolves will consider ‘inflated offers’ for Nunes and a few other players.

City obviously have a lot of money. They were set to splash £85 million on Paqueta before that move fell through.

It will be very interesting to see if they do come in with a huge bid to test Wolves’ resolve.

Hopefully, Wanderers are able to stand firm.

Because getting a replacement in at this stage could be a night for Wolves.
