Leeds United have agreed a £5 million deal with Bayer Leverkusen for attacking midfielder Nadiem Amiri.
That is according to Phil Hay of the Athletic, who reports Amiri will ‘be next‘ through the doors at Elland Road providing he gives the final green light to a transfer.
Leeds have stepped up their transfer activity in the last 48 hours with Joel Piroe’s arrival from Swansea City having been confirmed late last night.
Piroe is set to cost an initial £10.5 million that could rise to around £16 million if add-ons are met, in what is a major statement of intent from Leeds‘ owners.
However, Leeds are not expected to stop there anytime soon with Amiri possibly the next arrival in West Yorkshire with a deal now in place with Leverkusen.

Despite Amiri’s name having only been mentioned on Wednesday night, this transfer has already been quite the saga.
As per Florian Plettenberg yesterday morning, Amiri initially turned down the chance to move to Leeds with his eyes instead set on Marseille.
However, just hours later Amiri made a dramatic U-turn, though according to Hay, he is still to give the final green light having stayed in Germany last night.
Should a deal go through, Amiri will provide Daniel Farke’s squad with that creative midfielder it has been crying out for ever since his arrival.
In fact, Farke is said to have been the driving force behind a deal for Amiri having faced him with Borussia Monchengladbach last season.
