Sources: Man United in discussions over Wan-Bissaka swap deal

Man United have asked Wolves about a swap deal involving Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Nelson Semedo, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League giants are in the market for an attacking full-back on the right side of their defence and have been in touch with the Midlands club about potentially signing Semedo.

With Wolves running out of time to secure a replacement for the 29-year-old, United have suggested a swap between the Portuguese and Wan-Bissaka.

The 25-year-old has slipped down the United pecking order and Erik ten Hag wants to replace him with a right-back who is more effective going forward.

It is believed that Wolves have to sell more stars before the end of August cut-off to meet financial fair play restrictions.

The Molineux club have already sold the likes of Ruben Neves, Nathan Collins and Raul Jimenez this summer, while Matheus Nunes is closing in on a £50million-plus move to Man City.

Wan-Bissaka has long been linked with a potential move to Wolves and now has just 12 months left to run on his contract at Old Trafford.

The London-born ace could be shipped out of Old Trafford before the 1 September deadline despite starting both of Man United’s opening two games this term.

Semedo has also started both games this season for Wolves – who have lost on both outings, conceding five goals in the process.

He is under contract at Molineux until June 2025.

The right-back was a key man for the Midlands side last term – notching two assists in 41 appearances across all competitions as they survived an early relegation threat.
