Dave Edwards has expressed his excitement about Wolves’ signing of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.
The Frenchman was the club’s final addition of the summer window.
Wolves showed late interest in the midfielder, and were able to agree a deal with Strasbourg on transfer deadline day.
Officials flew out to Strasbourg to get everything sorted, in scenes that mirrored the signing of Boubacar Traore the year before.
Bellegarde has just had his first week training at Wolves, and he looks quite a handy player from the clips the club have released to fans.

Edwards has been speaking about Wolves’ latest recruit in his Express & Star column.
Wanderers have lost Matheus Nunes after he went on strike to force a move to Manchester City.
But it looks as though Bellegarde might be a decent replacement for the Portuguese.
Edwards said: “I’m really excited about Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and what he could bring to Wolves. What I like most about him is he’s very different to what Wolves have in the squad. Whether he plays in central midfield or as a wide midfielder, in the mould of Matheus Nunes, I think he’s very different to what they have.
“His main attribute is his raw pace and ability to shift the ball and move quickly over the first three or four yards, to take himself away from defenders.
“That is such an asset to have when you play as a midfielder because of the way he can turn defence into attack.
“To have that powerful runner is really exciting. He is athletic and can go box-to-box. He does both sides of the game really well from what I’ve seen and read.”
Bellegarde must show the consistency Nunes did not for Wolves
It is interesting to consider that Bellegarde could be a genuine replacement for Nunes.
Nunes is extremely unique in the way that he plays.
So it would be great if we could see some similar ball-carrying from Bellegarde.
But Wolves fans will hope that the 26-year-old is more consistent during his time at Molineux than Nunes.
As amazing as he could look, Nunes produced far more poor displays for Wolves than good ones.
Hopefully given this, Bellegarde – who has taken Nunes’ old number 27 shirt number – will not feel any pressure to perform for Wolves and hit the ground running straight away.
