UPDATE ON INJURY: Town Worried About Trio’s Fitness

Swindon Town will be hoping that a number of players can show their fitness before the trip to Accrington Stanley on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Dave Flitcroft’s side travels to The Wham Stadium this weekend with a few injury concerns.

Amine Linganzi, Paul Mullin, and Luke Norris all limped out during Tuesday’s defeat to Forest Green Rovers, and Flitcroft will give the trio every chance to show their fitness on Saturday.

“Paul Mullin has an ongoing problem.” On Saturday, he felt the best he’d felt in a long time and got a lot of work done, but he felt a pang in his groyne.

“Luke Norris rocked his ankle injury, indicating a weakness, and Amine Linganzi just tightened up again.”

“We’ll have a look at it on Wednesday and assess it from there.”

Flitcroft also gave updates on Chris Hussey and Donal McDermott, saying he hopes to have at least one of them back this weekend.

“It was a big day on Wednesday in term of the injuries we are carrying from Tuesday’s game and potentially knowing where Chris Hussey is,” he said.

“Donal McDermott participated in a non-contact training session on Tuesday, so we’ll see how he reacts.”

“We might be able to bring one of them back for the Accrington trip.”

“We’ll be fine because we have Tom Smith and James Brophy back.” They have benefited from the financing and are prepared.

“We have Thursday and Friday and that will hopefully give us time to get the players back to where we want them.”
