Blackpool FC: Midfielder Matty Virtue’s absence from the Seasiders is expected to last for a few weeks, according to Neil Critchley.
The midfielder missed the Seasiders’ most recent two games due to a hamstring injury sustained in practise.
Neil Critchley gave an update on how long the 26-year-old is anticipated to be out after a scan.
He said, “He’ll be a few weeks- it’s not long-term.”
“There will be a few weeks.
We don’t want to lose Matty, who I thought played incredibly well against Reading, but fortunately we haven’t had many injuries this season.
Blackpool will be rewarded, according to Neil Critchley, if they exhibit a crucial trait.
If Blackpool keeps up their desire level from when they lost to Derby County, Neil Critchley thinks they will be rewarded.
Korey Smith, James Collins, and Martyn Waghorn scored in the second half to give the Rams a 3-1 victory at Bloomfield Road. Kenny Dougall’s goal served only as a consolation.
Despite being on the losing end, Critchley was pleased with his team’s effort and believes the Seasiders will win if they continue to put on similar performances for the remainder of the year.
Unfortunately, it probably worked for Derby, he said.
You can sense the strength in their bench; they have extremely good players. They’ll be up there at the end of the season.
“We didn’t have a divine right to humiliate Derby and defeat them.
They excelled during crucial junctures of the game.
“Due to their experience, people don’t freak out in certain circumstances.
“You’d want to be improving while also winning, but losing football games is a part of the game, and how you handle it matters.
“The players never gave up; they persisted in pushing through to the finish.
“If we keep showing the same spirit and application then we will get our just rewards in the long-term.”
On Saturday afternoon, ckpBlaool travel to Charlton Athletic at the Valley.
“They’re all difficult games in this league,” Critchley said.
“We’ve recently demonstrated that we can go anywhere and win.”
“We know Charlton is a difficult away game.”
“We need to combine both sides of our game.”
“At Barnsley, we were tough to beat, but we didn’t play anywhere near as well as we did against Derby.”
