SO SAD: A vasertile ace suffering from muscle injury….

Carlos Corberán has revealed that attacker Jeremy Sarmiento would be out for four weeks due to a quadriceps injury.

The Ecuador international, who is on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion for the 2023/24 season, did not play in Tuesday’s 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday at The Hawthorns.

“The risk with Jeremy to play the game, whenever he is playing more minutes, there is always a risk because he is a player who hasn’t had the habit of playing games,” the boss added.

“He was experiencing quadriceps soreness. He was playing a few minutes at the end of the Preston game when he noticed soreness in his left quadricep.

“He was receiving treatment for this pain on Sunday, and when the doctors checked – when the pain was there and didn’t go away, they made a scan – yesterday, it showed an injury.” It will keep him away from the group for four weeks. It’s challenging.

“It’s something I’ve been very, very conscious of when I’ve given him minutes.” He had a history of injuries and had little desire to play games.

“It’s difficult because when I found out yesterday that he’d be out for four weeks, it affected you.” This is not to say that we don’t have solutions, but I never want to lose a player.”
