NFL Injury Report 2023: Which NFL players are currently injured and what is their status?
These are the injured NFL players right before the start of the new season.

Although teams are not required to submit injury updates at this time of year, there are still ailments to watch on the NFL Injury Report 2023 as we prepare for the next regular season.

The following is a list of NFL players that are currently injured, along with their injury status.

Patrick Mahomes, QB of the Kansas City Chiefs, suffered a high ankle sprain in the victory.
Despite suffering a right ankle injury in the AFC Divisional Round, Patrick Mahomes guided the #1 Kansas City Chiefs to a 27-20 victory over the #4 Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday. For the seventh consecutive postseason, the Chiefs advanced to the AFC Championship game.

After an MRI and other tests, the Chiefs confirmed on Sunday that Mahomes has a high ankle sprain.

In the AFC Championship, the Chiefs will face the #3 Cincinnati Bengals in a rematch of last year’s title game. The Chiefs will seek vengeance in this game. Last year, they were defeated in overtime by the Bengals, 27-24.

On the other side of the AFC Divisional Round bracket, the Bengals defeated the #2 Bills 27-10 on the road to earn back-to-back visits to the AFC Championship.

When the starting line was posted last night, the Chiefs were -2.5 betting favourites over the Bengals. The AFC Championship line has since moved to -1, with early money favouring the Bengals.

On DraftKings’ futures board on Sunday evening, the Chiefs were +250 favourites to win Super Bowl LVII, while the Bengals were +275. However, as of Monday morning, the Chiefs were +260 favourites, while the Bengals were +270 favourites.

To begin the game, the Chiefs and Jaguars traded touchdowns. Mahomes entered the game with the score knotted at 7-7.

Late in the first quarter, he suffered an ankle injury. Mahomes was sandwiched by two defenders after releasing a pass to tight end Blake Bell. He landed awkwardly on the turf and stood up in obvious discomfort. Mahomes stayed in the game, and the Chiefs scored a field goal to go up 10-7.

Mahomes was sent to the locker room by the Chiefs for an X-ray. In fury, Mahomes smacked his helmet on the sidelines as he fled the field. For the remainder of the half, backup quarterback Chad Henne took over as the Chiefs’ signal caller.

Henne kept his cool and completed 5-of-7 throws for 23 yards and a touchdown. He led a 98-yard drive that ended with a touchdown pass to tight end Travis Kelce. The Chiefs were now up 17-7. The Jaguars added a field goal before halftime to trim the margin to 17-10.

Mahomes returned to the game in the second half after the X-rays came back negative. The Chiefs’ Harrison Butker blasted a six-yard field goal as the only score for either team in the third quarter. At the start of the fourth quarter, the Chiefs lead 20-10.

Travis Etienne of the Jaguars scored a touchdown to trim the margin to 20-17. On the next play, Mahomes connected with Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a six-yard touchdown, extending the Chiefs’ lead to 27-17.

Despite a late-game field goal by the Jaguars, the Chiefs won 27-20. Mahomes finished with 195 yards throwing and two touchdowns.
