Last Saturday, the club fired Michael Beale.
Since Michael Beale was recently fired, Rangers have been without a manager. Beale struggled to get things moving at Ibrox and the Gers were forced to let him go after the team lost in the Scottish Premiership and exited the Champions League. The Gers have been associated with a variety of names recently as the search for a new manager has begun.
Any ideas of a title return may be restricted, nevertheless, since Celtic is already in the lead and on track to win three crowns in a row in Scotland’s premier division. However, Rangers must still make sure the following appointment is accurate. And with that said, reports indicate that they may have talked to one particular candidate for the position.
Who has been mentioned as the Rangers job candidate?
Given the importance of the position at Ibrox, a number of candidates, including former Chelsea and Everton managers Frank Lampard and Phillippe Clement, have been mentioned as potential Rangers managers. Lampard, meanwhile, has reportedly been eliminated, and Clement, despite being a free agent, has other suitors, according to Ibrox News.
Presenter Kenny McIntyre gave a Rangers manager update while speaking on BBC Sportscene. He said that after earlier speculations of a transfer, the Gers have spoken with Pascal Jansen. According to McIntyre and Ibrox News:
According to what I’ve been informed, Frank Lampard, Pascal Jansen, Kevin Muscat, and Philippe Celement have all been contacted. Lampard is no longer being taken into account. Muscat, so I’ve been informed, is an outsider. Clement is a free agent, but he is being pursued by other teams, including Jansen.
Given that the Scottish giants have spoken with Jansen, among others, who is quite interested in the job at Ibrox, the upcoming week or so will undoubtedly be intriguing.
AK Alkmaar’s current manager, Jansen, has impressed many this year. His team has won 77% of their games as of this writing, and they are now ranked as high as second. Graeme Bailey of 90Min said the following about the Dutchman in regards to his time at the club:
In preparation for their Europa Conference League semifinal second leg against West Ham, I spoke with AZ manager Pascal Jansen this week. A genuinely fascinating and captivating individual who was born in England and would love the opportunity to manage in the Premier League.
