One of Town’s most promising young players, Tristan Nydam, was forced to retire in 2019 due to an injury.
A devastating accident nearly three years ago forced a former star of Ipswich Town to retire at the young age of 22.
After never fully recuperating from his injuries, Tristan Nydam, who suffered a broken ankle and damaged ligaments during a friendly with Notts County in July 2019, has decided to stop his career.
Nydam played in 20 league games for Town after coming through the club’s youth ranks. He also represented England’s Under-18 and Under-19 teams.

Nevertheless, has made the decision to leave the game and transition into coaching after nearly three years of recuperation.
Speaking with the official Ipswich Town website, Nydam talked about the “tough decision” he made to end his playing career.
“I’ve accepted it now, and I’m content and excited about the future,” he stated. Though I’m upset about it, I still have a lot of life left to enjoy and I’m still young. I’m doing well these days.
I have no complaints about anyone at the Club because they all gave it their utmost to assist me. Last season, I played a little U23 football with MK Dons, getting approximately 30 minutes in, but my ankle never fully healed.
“I also suffered a hamstring injury so that was another setback, and I need to think about my future now, not just football.”
Nydam only made one appearance during the 2020–21 season before being let go by the town last summer.
Following the 22-year-old’s announcement on Twitter, admirers showered her with congratulations.
