NEWS NOW: UConn loses 24-21 to USF after allowing two touchdowns in the fourth quarter….

UConn led 10–1 going into the fourth quarter.

AP/EAST HARTFORD, CONN. South Florida defeated Connecticut 24–21 on Saturday thanks to touchdown runs in the fourth quarter by Byrum Brown and Nay’Quan Wright.

With 12:48 remaining in the game, Camryn Edwards of UConn (1-6) scored on a 33-yard run, putting South Florida (4-4) behind 21-10.

After a nine-play, 75-yard drive, Brown responded with a 6-yard touchdown run to bring the Bulls within four points. With 4:02 left, Wright completed a nine-play, 90-yard drive with a four-yard scoring run to give USF the lead.

After one quarter, Wright scored on a one-yard run to give the Bulls a 7-0 lead.

56 seconds into the second quarter, Ta’Quan Roberson scored on a 24-yard run to tie the score for the Huskies. South Florida’s John Cannon made a 45-yard field goal before Edwards scored an 11-point touchdown run to give the Huskies the lead.

For the Bulls, Brown completed 27 of 39 passes for 206 yards and one interception. During 26 carries, Wright gained 186 yards.

Roberson led the unbeaten Huskies with 175 yards on 19 of 34 passes, including an interception. With 22 carries, Edwards finished with 149 yards.
