SHOCKING NEWS: Paige Bueckers injury: UConn star out for season in devastating update……

This coming season’s national title game loss to UConn will remain unforgivable for the 2021 Player of the Year, who was sidelined for a large portion of the previous campaign due to injuries.

UConn announced on Wednesday that Paige Bueckers tore her ACL this week and will miss the 2022–2023 season as a result.

On Monday, she was participating in a pickup basketball game when everything happened. An MRI verified the injury.

Paige Bueckers injury: devastating update: UConn star out for season

In a statement, head coach Geno Aurriemma said, “We’re all devastated for Paige.” This is a regrettable setback for her as she has worked really hard this offseason to get stronger and healthier. Although Paige is an incredible basketball player, she is also a better person and teammate, so it’s very sad that this has happened to her. Although her absence from the court will be felt, she will make every effort to guide and support her teammates this season. Paige will receive assistance from our program during her recuperation so that she can return stronger and better.

After a standout freshman season that helped lead UConn to the Final Four, Bueckers won almost every Player of the Year award that could be given out.

Prior to her sophomore season, she required ankle surgery, and in December, she suffered a tibial fracture, which put her in further danger of injury. After a successful recovery, she was back in the starting lineup for the NCAA Tournament, helping her team advance to face South Carolina in the championship game.

Despite the fact that the Huskies lost that game, there was a lot of hope for the upcoming season because Bueckers would be healthy and prepared to take the team by storm. Rather, she has experienced yet another round of unfortunate events.
