Swansea City are ‘set to capture’ Werder Bremen left-back Lee Buchanan, reports Planet Swans.
Buchanan, 22, has recently been linked with a move back to England following his transfer from Derby County to Werder Bremen last year.
The left-back featured 21 times in the Bundesliga last time round but a recent report from Football Insider revealed that Championship duo Birmingham City and Swansea City were keen on signing the Englishman.
And now Planet Swans are reporting that Swansea City are set to sign Buchanan, adding to their already impressive summer transfer window.
Buchanan looks set to join the likes of Josh Key, Josh Ginnelly, and Jerry Yates in signing for Michael Duff’s new side this summer.
In three years with the Derby County first-team, Buchanan made 70 league appearances asserting himself as a very dynamic and energetic left-back, and his season in the German top flight will have only been beneficial to his development.
A big signing…
Swansea are really making a go of it this summer. At the end of last season, and when Russell Martin’s links to Southampton first emerged, it looked like the summer would be very tough for Swansea but in fact, it’s bene very prosperous.
And this signing of Buchanan is a real statement one. He’s a very talented and young player who was attracting interest from elsewhere, but the Swans have seemingly put money on the table to get a deal just about over the line.
He joins the likes of Key, Ginnelly, and Yates who are all very impressive signings, and with a new and exciting boss in charge, the Swans could really surprise a few people next season.
