West Ham now eyeing move to sign ‘absolutely rapid’ left-back from PL London rivals

West Ham United allegedly want to sign 21-year-old left-back Ian Maatsen from Chelsea this summer.

According to a report from The Athletic, West Ham have expressed an interest in prising Ian Maatsen away from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

This news comes at the same time as claims suggesting that Hammers left-back Aaron Cresswell is currently in talks to sign for Wolves.

David Moyes definitely needs to add more pace and youth to his full-back ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

And it seems as though the Scot is getting ready to do exactly that…

During those appearances, Maatsen averaged two tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 1.3 clearances. He made 57.3 passes per game on average and recorded a completion rate of 83.5% – a mightily impressive return for a full-back (Who Scored).

Those are some fine stats there from the Netherlands under-21 international.

Ian Maatsen is a really talented young player and I would absolutely love to see him join West Ham from Chelsea.

Whether Chelsea will be prepared to sell him to us for £20 million in the summer transfer window remains to be seen though.
