AS THE return of Sky Bet Championship football edges ever closer, we are taking an in-depth look at all 23 opponents that QPR will be coming up against throughout the 2023/24 season.
Next up are Huddersfield Town – who under veteran boss Neil Warnock will be looking for a much improved campaign this time out.
The 74-year-old returned to management in February for what is his second spell with the Terriers – 28-years after he had previously left West Yorkshire and will be looking to build on what was an impressive end to last season as his side narrowly avoided the dreaded drop.
Rangers travel to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday 21st October before welcoming Huddersfield to Loftus Road on Saturday 27th January 2024.
However, the former QPR boss hasn’t been very active in the transfer market so far, but the departures of Etienne Camara and Duane Holmes will certainly open the door for potential targets.
A physically imposing side, Huddersfield poses a significant threat from set-pieces, particularly corners, where their height advantage comes into play whilst a fluttering of Premier League quality remains amongst their ranks added with the dogged determination of the likes of Jonathan Hogg ensuring the Town will remain a tough side to break down.
Throughout history there has been continuous links between the Super Hoops and the Terriers, with the likes of Nahki Wells (pictured), Alex Smithies, Kevin Gallen, Mike Hellawell and Conway Smith having all represented both teams professionally during their careers.
Formed in 1908, Huddersfield joined the EFL in 1910 and quickly made their mark by securing promotion to the top division during the 1919-20 season.
Throughout their history their journey has seen its share of ups and downs. With recent promotions in 2004, 2012 and 2017 recent highlights of the Terriers history.
