The Cods head into their first home game in pre-season after playing five matches already. The first saw Scott Brown’s side take on Burnley in a behind closed door friendly at the Clarets training complex, with the next two being out in Waterford where the lads completed a week-long training camp.
With a win over sister club Waterford FC at the RSC in the first contest, the Cod Army narrowly lost out to newly promoted Dundee FC at the RSC on the Saturday. Town have since gone on to play Hearts at Poolfoot Farm and Tranmere Rovers in another behind closed door friendly.
Fleetwood have made four siginings this summer, with those being Ryan Broom, Danny Mayor, Adam Montgomery and Ryan Graydon. The first three signings all took part in the week-long training camp in Ireland, with Graydon signing last week from League of Ireland outfit, Derry City FC.
BLACKBURN ROVERS
Blackburn Rovers’ last fixtures was against TSV Hartberg, where they played two matches against the same side. With a 4-1 win over the Austrian side and then a 6-0 victory, it was a good runout for Jon Dahl Tomasson team – who was left impressed by the application from his squad after his side ruthlessly put TSV Hartberg to the sword in both games.
There has been movement within the Rovers camp, with six players leaving so far this summer. The most noticeable one being forward Ben Brereton Diaz, who left on a free transfer at the start of July to join Spanish side, Villarreal. Former Fleetwood loanee Dan Butterworth also left on a free to join League One side, Carlisle United – who the Cods play on the opening day of the 2023/24 season.
Rovers has brought in four players this summer. Niall Ennis joined from Championship side Plymouth Argyle on a free, as well as former Vitesse midfielder, Sondre Tronstad. Arnor Sigurdsson and Dilan Markanday are two players who have joined on loan deals.
