SOUTHAMPTON DON’T WANT TO SELL ‘ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC’ PLAYER TO NEWCASTLE

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are now reportedly facing a problem in signing Tino Livramento from Southampton.

TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook is reporting on Twitter this morning that Newcastle United are not close to signing Tino Livramento from Southampton in the summer transfer window.

Crook has claimed that the Saints do not want to sell the right-back to the Magpies this summer.

The journalist has added that Newcastle and Southampton do not agree on the valuation of the right-back, described as “absolutely fantastic” by former Arsenal and Southampton player Theo Walcott in talkSPORT in November 2021.

Southampton will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League.

Newcastle will play in the UEFA Champions League next campaign after finishing in the top four of the Premier League table last season.

Twist in Newcastle United’s pursuit of Southampton right-back Tino Livramento

Alex Crook’s tweet this morning comes as a twist in Newcastle United’s quest to sign former Chelsea prospect Tino Livramento from Southampton in the summer transfer window.

It was only on Thursday when The Guardian reported that Southampton were “close to selling “Livramento to Newcastle for about £30m”.

However, it seems that it might not be the case.

It will be interesting to see what Newcastle do now.

Every player has his price.

Southampton will play in the Championship next season, so the right-back himself could be tempted to leave, especially for Newcastle.

Newcastle are one of the biggest clubs in England who will play in the UEFA Champions League next season as well as challenge for the Premier League top four

Livramento has made 30 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The England Under-21 international right-back has scored one goal, given one assist, and kept six clean sheets in those games.
