Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is set to leave Old Trafford this summer.
The Ivorian centre-back spent last season on loan at Marseille in France, and it doesn’t sound like the Ligue 1 outfit will be trying to sign him on a permanent deal anytime soon.
Perhaps a seven-game ban for a horror tackle did little to improve his chances of staying at Marseille.
Bailly, 29, was Jose Mourinho’s first signing during his time at United.
After an impressive first season, Bailly’s time at United was hampered by injuries and he has steadily fallen down the pecking order in recent years.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bailly has decided to call time on stint at Old Trafford. He adds that Fulham and Al Ettifaq have enquired about a deal.
This comes as no surprise since Bailly was left out of the pre-season tour squad for America, which now includes new signing Andre Onana.
Bailly made 113 appearances across all competitions as a United player in his seven years at the club. I don’t think he ever made the grade in a Red shirt.
