Injury setback, loan player signs with French company, and Leicester ticket confusion in Coventry City notebook

Coventry City news from CoventryLive as the Sky Blues continue their pre-season build-up to the new Championship campaign

Coventry City continue their pre-season programme at newly relegated MK Dons on Tuesday night (7pm) following the club’s drop into League Two.

The Sky Blues will look to maintain their unbeaten run after last week’s comfortable 4-0 win at Forest Green Rovers and Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Shrewsbury Town. Mark Robins’ men then travel to Devon this weekend to take on League One side Exeter City.

Robins has made six summer signings so far but still wants another eight-ten new players to replenish and rebuild his squad ahead of the new Championship campaign. Here we take a look at what’s going on in and around the club.

Injury setback

Summer signing Jay Dasilva was conspicuous by his absence at Shrewsbury Town at the weekend, having made his friendly debut for the Sky Blues at Forest Green a few days earlier.

And it’s looking likely that the 25-year-old wing-back will again sit out when City travel to MK Dons on Tuesday night for their third warm-up match of the pre-season due to injury.

Providing an update on the player, Mark Robins said: “Jay has picked up an ankle issue so he’s got a sprain in his ankle. It just opened the joint up and while he may miss Tuesday he should be back for Saturday.”
