Nottingham Forest’s search for a defensive midfielder: Super Eagles star on list of….

Nottingham Forest are weighing up a move for Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.

According to The Telegraph, the Leicester City enforcer is one of the potential midfield targets of the two-time European champions.

However, the club would not pursue any deal for the former Genk midfielder till the latter stage of the transfer window as he is considered an alternative to Ibrahim Sangare and due to the fee he could command.

Steve Cooper’s side escaped relegation by the whiskers last season and want to avoid a repeat of that in the new season by clever recruitment in this transfer window

They have added Super Eagles right-back, Ola Aina and Manchester United product Anthony Elanga to their ranks but also aim to get a defensive midfielder, a left back and a goalkeeper before the end of the transfer window.

With 192 Premier League appearances for Leicester City, the 26-year-old is experienced enough to fit into the Nottingham Forest side.

The former Genk midfielder’s existing contract with Leicester City expires next year and that could lead to him leaving the King Power Stadium this summer.

The Nigeria international will be teaming up with compatriots Ola Aina, Emmanuel Dennis and Taiwo Awoniyi if he moves to the City Ground in this transfer window.
