Aston Villa rejects transfer possibility of……

Aston Villa are unlikely to sign former Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, despite recent links.

Villa have been linked with the 29-year-old this summer after he became a free agent. Oxlade-Chamberlain ended a six-year stay at Merseyside following the expiration of his contract.

Villa have so far signed three players in Youri Tielemans, Pau Torres and Moussa Diaby and there is no sign to say the club will be stopping there. As they could be playing in excess of 50 games next season after European qualification, Villa will be looking to make further additions.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Villa have been given the “possibility” to sign the 29-year-old and “proposals have been made to various teams” over a potential deal. However, BirminghamLive understands that is a deal unlikely to happen.

His former Liverpool team mate and captain Jordan Henderson claims that the next club that signs the midfielder will have “won the lottery.”

He said: “I want to make this point because I think it is critical that people outside our intimate work environment understand it: Ox is currently in the shape of his life and whoever gets him next has won the lottery,” Henderson wrote in his programme notes at the end of the season. “He’s been fit and one of our standout players in training consistently for the past two seasons.

“Being honest, I’m buzzing for Ox but gutted he gets the chance to have a fresh start somewhere else. What I felt back on summer transfer deadline night in 2017 [when he signed for Liverpool] still applies now: the guy is dynamite. What a player.”
