Roma Begin Move For Inter Milan-Linked West Ham Star

Roma are ready to kickstart their move to sign Inter Milan target Gianluca Scamacca from West Ham United.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that today is the day that the Giallorossi make their first serious offer to the Hammers to sign Scamacca.

Scamacca is a player whose future looks increasingly to be in Serie A.

The 24-year-old only made the switch to West Ham twelve months ago. However, a mixed-bag first season in the Premier League has raised questions about his future.

A return to the Italian top flight would be welcomed by the player, therefore.

As far as interest om Scamacca’s signature goes, Inter and Roma appear to be the two main clubs in the race.

The Nerazzurri, for their part, have lined the 24-year-old up among possible striker targets in the wake of the collapse of their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku.

But the Giallorossi are intent in moving in ahead of them. And today will be the start of their big move, reports the Gazzetta.

Roma Ready To Make First Offer To West Ham For Gianluca Scamacca

Roma will have to make an offer for Scamacca that falls within their financial parameters.

Therefor, the Gazzetta anticipates, the capital club will offer an initial paid loan deal. The loan fee could be around €2-3 million.

Then, there could be a purchase option in the deal. The fee would be for around €22-23 million, the Gazzetta reports.

Moreover, the option could become a mandatory obligation to sign the striker under certain conditions.

These conditions could be linked to Roma qualifying for the Champions League next season, or to Scamacca scoring a certain number of goals.

However, the Gazzetta report, the Giallorossi will be wary of Inter’s capacity to make a straight cash offer.

Given that the Nerazzurri had been ready to pay €40 million to sign Lukaku from Chelsea, a big money offer for Scamacca would not be outside of their price range.
